I know I disappeared but I really hadn’t been doing anything crafty lately. This weekend I had some time and decided to rectify that.
The idea of trying to make every single Christmas gift by hand is very intimidating to me. Instead I want to spend the year making handmade birthday gifts. My first test is my mom’s birthday on the 9th of March. Since I just started knitting a pot holder seemed like a simple project that would still turn out fabulous. I’m using these instructions with the basket weave pattern. The knitting only takes a couple hours so now I need to find a coordinating fabric . I’ll use it for one side of the pot holder and then as an accent for some dishtowels (like the picture below).
It’s all pretty simple which is right up my sewing alley but my mom will still be impressed. Now I need to figure out what to do for my husband’s birthday…
