I should be working on more Christmas presents and I did start a new quilt for my brother but I got sidetracked…. I bought a bunch of Laura Gunn’s Lantern Bloom collection when it first came out but didn’t know what I would do with it. I realized when I was looking through a bunch of quilts that I want to try that these fabrics would look beautiful in Anna Maria Horner’s Birdcage Quilt Pattern.
Since some of the prints are still readily available and coordinate well with her latest collection Poppy I wanted to get started so that if I messed up or didn’t have enough fabric I would still be able to purchase it. I hate hoarding fabric waiting for the “perfect project” and then that project comes around and you don’t have enough fabric… I’m not sure if I will cut everything out and then pack it away or if I’ll get the top sewn together before I move on to other things…. It doesn’t help that my brother’s quilt is all triangles and I really dislike sewing triangles together- so much precision required!
Why do the cats always find the pile of nicely folded quilting fabrics to sleep on. You come home and there is cat fluff all over them!
